No Response – Political Party Invitation
Jan 9th, 2012 | By FJH | Category: Scottish Politics
On the 30th of November 2011 I contacted all 5 Scottish political parties. I was wondering what New Year Resolutions all the Scottish political parties had set themselves. So I decided to write to each of them, inviting each to make a contribution. Here is the detail of the e-mail that I sent them:
Hello
I am the webmaster of the online ScotchPotch Magazine which is updated every month.
As part of the January 2012 edition, I am contacting all the Scottish political parties to ask you to write a small article entitled “Our Party’s New Year Resolutions For Scotland’. In this article you can write about your vision for Scotland, what you set out to do in 2012 and what you will fight for on behalf of Scotland.
I will publish your contribution along with the others in one post, unedited. But please keep it short and to the point.
This will appear on, or just after the 1st of January 2012 in ScotchPotch Magazine.
Thank you for your time
I was hoping to be able to bring you ALL the political parties’ replies in the January 2012 edition of the ScotchPotch Magazine. Unfortunately to date (9 January 2012) I only received one reply and that was from the Scottish Liberal Democrats on the 1st of December 2011, advising that they had passed my request to their regional office.
It was a cheeky thing to do I suppose; expect a political party to write about the future of Scotland in my humble blog. I daresay each party’s head office is bombarded with requests from the mainstream media and they do have limited resources.
I think they now have more pressing problems, what with the London parliament trying to force the issue of a referendum for Scotland’s independence.
